Postgraduate application and intern admission requirements
Undergraduate students majoring in computer science, especially those in mathematics, are welcome to join the Visual and Geometric Perception Laboratory as interns or apply for postgraduate study to participate in theoretical research or application projects related to 3D computer vision, computer graphics, and robotics.
Specific Requirements
1. Interns are required to commit at least half a year and an average of more than 10 hours per week; otherwise they cannot learn and complete tasks independently, and non-interns will not receive signed recommendation letters or supervision for innovation and entrepreneurship projects.
2. Applicants should be driven by interest or self-motivation and aim to master frontier technologies in visual perception, computer graphics, and artificial intelligence.
3. Academic-track and professional-track master's students have the same training duration, with the primary goal being the publication of high-quality papers or completion of high-tech projects.
4. Intern training focuses on introduction to theoretical research, participation in experimental work for papers, and company project experience.
5. Students need clear ambition, self-motivation, and the ability to handle pressure, such as the determination and capacity to quickly learn new knowledge and implement code in practice.
6. Students should have a solid mathematics foundation, or strong self-study ability in mathematics and algorithms, enabling rapid onboarding of traditional and deep learning techniques.
7. Students must have the ability to read and write low-level code; CV, CG, and Robot directions often involve programming fundamental algorithms using tools such as C++, CUDA, and Ceres.
8. Whether pursuing theoretical research (aiming to publish high-quality papers) or company projects (understanding algorithms and gaining practical experience), fully recognize that the time and effort required are enormous; do not join the lab merely to pad your resume.
PS: For graduate applicants, there is a two-to-four-week internship period to experience lab work and management.
